Creative Advertising + Entrepreneurship

My Storytelling Drive

Hi, I'm Megan – a senior at James Madison University with a passion for creativity and a knack for thinking beyond the ordinary. My journey into the world of creativity began in high school when I became a part of the yearbook staff. For over three years, I dedicated myself to gathering content and designing numerous pages for different books, each exceeding 200 pages. This role during my high school years sparked my initial interest in design and storytelling.

Balancing the demands of yearbook work alongside my studies, I made it my mission to push my limits and embrace a strong work ethic. Alongside, I grew up in a household where my dad and stepmom built a chiropractic company. I had a front-row seat to their entrepreneurial journey, which has now led them to owning 8 different chiropractic clinics. Their passion and strategic marketing efforts have significantly influenced my own pursuits.

This unique upbringing sparked my entrepreneurial spirit. Merging my love for storytelling through design with the business insights from my parents, I've crafted a mission for myself. Currently, I take on the role of Marketing Intern on the Demand Generation team at Velosio – a Microsoft consulting firm – I'm blending design creativity with technology solutions for our clients.

Alongside my internship role, I continue to perfect and enhance my design capabilities and skills by serving as the Graphic Designer here at the JMU newspaper. I undertake various roles, designing the content of our weekly publications and creating advertisements for local businesses looking to promote their services in our paper.

Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing as a storyteller while navigating business advancements. I'm always eager to learn and adapt new skills, seeking the best business tactics to enhance my capabilities.
